May 9, 2013

I always indulge myself from time to time. Well, actually most of the time. So when I went to Tagaytay for an overnight getaway, I sure went for the whole 9 yards. This post is somewhat late but still I guess I need to add it up because friends always ask me what and where to eat in Tagaytay.

I went to Cafe Verbena (click for my first review of Cafe Verbena) of Discovery Country Suites for lunch. Good thing it was a Wednesday. For Wednesdays, they have 50% off!!!!

From when in manila.com

Oyster Croquette
I picked a set Menu which started with some Croquette. The greens that accompanied them were refreshing and is fresh. The croquette itself tasted like the sea (fried sea). It was crunchy on the outside and soft inside.

Pumpkin dumplings with shrimps
Next up would be pumpkin dumplings. The shrimps were fresh and cooked exactly the way I like it. It wasn't soggy or overcooked. The dumplings had mashed pumpkin inside. Sweet!!!

Chocolate Marquise
I am sorry mom but I just got to have chocolates!!!! This Chocolate Marquise is undeniable my order every time I go to Tagaytay. It was to die for. The pistachio added the right crunch to this dessert.

Butterscotch Pudding

Since, I was a bit full already. I just gave the butterscotch away. According to them, this was sweet and yummy too.

Allot around 800-1,000 Php +++ per person. Eating here is a bit expensive but I believe it is worth it. I am just thankful that they have the 50% off every Wednesday.

The service was awesome and so is the setting. I just love it. The only thing I didn't like was that the male washroom was outside the establishment.
