Remember how I suddenly booked tickets for an impromptu solo trip
(see here) to Singapore out of no where? Well, I used those tickets over the weekend.

I must say, I am a lucky guy! Let's see why.

Even after waking up really early, my driver and I was stalled by traffic in the airport area. I was beginning to panic as my check in time is 5am and my flight leaves at 8am. It was already 6. Great thing my driver did a thingy and went vroom vrroom and passed by side streets that I was able to check in on time.

Upon checking in at the counter at Naia Terminal 2. I needed to produce my credit card used for booking the tickets.
15kg limit.
My bags were weighed.Whew! That was so close! I was then informed that I needed to pay a travel tax. Huwaaaaaat??
Apparently, when you book online, the travel tax isn't included yet and you need to go to a separate counter to pay. This is such a hustle. I hope they integrate all of this into the buying of the tickets online. It was actually my first time experiencing this as most  all of my flights are booked by travel agents. For economy class passengers one would need to pay 1,620 (Php). Business class passengers has a higher tax. Ouch!

When I boarded I was happy with my seat. I mean MY SEATS!!! Yes with an S!!!!
I had a whole row all to myself. Not to mention that it was near the front part of the plane.!

Yeah... Economy class has its perks too!

I think I forgot to lock in the belt of my travel companion! LOL!

Since it was a morning flight, we had a breakfast kind of meal.

I didn't eat the breads as they were boring. The corned beef wasn't really that tasty. I did like that I had unlimited drinks!
Even my camera wanted a cup of tea. LOL!

After a few days of R and R, I was quite excited to go to the airport. Why? Well, it was Changi International Airport Terminal 2. Yeah! Voted as one of the best airports in the world. It catered to all the needs of a traveler. Shops upon shops and perks were found all over the place.

I wanted to get in early so I could do a little shopping (more on this on another post). I was so early that I had to wait an hour for me to check in.
Yeah... no calls to late passengers.
The kind lady at the counter informed me that I was assigned to a middle seat. I asked if I could be placed on an aisle. She fixed it quickly and gave me a wonderful seat! Thank you my dear!
Before going in, we had to wait at the gate area. Now this place is awesome as it had a lot of universal sockets found on the side of the chairs.
Yeah needed to do a last minute charging while surfing the web.
Last selfie in Singapore.
 This definitely made me smile.
Once we boarded I noticed their connecting bridges to the airplanes had a cool vibe to it. It even had a provision for 1st class and business class.
As I enter, I was actually surprised. I had an exit row all to myself!!! Talk about luck.
This time, I had my ever trusty camera tucked in between different pillows. My travel companion needed to be placed in the overhead storage compartment as this was the policy for an exit row.
As for the leg room this definitely was a close call between my trip to Bangkok (click here) last month. There, I had no seats in front of me. Here, I had more arm space and leg room I could ever want. What do you prefer?
Stretching my legs.
or even doing a de quatro.
After a few moments of relaxing, they served our meal. It was either chicken or fish. Guess what I chose.

I loved their food this time around. We were served chicken inasal. The flavors were there. I liked it very much. It tasted better than some of the inasal I ate in Manila. It wasn't dry nor was it overly seasoned.
I just didn't like their tuna salad. It tasted bland.

Of course, what is great is that they have unlimited drinks. From apple to orange juice to coffee or tea to soda or plain water and some alcoholic beverage like beer and wine.

Of course, I had a lot to drink. As traveling 39,000 ft. makes my throat a little dry.
Tea anyone?
During 4 hours of chillaxing, I definitely enjoyed my flight. I was also able to exercise my independence a bit as this was my very first time traveling alone internationally. Believe it or not, PAL got us to MNL 20 minutes earlier than the ETA. WHEW!
