One of my favorite types of cuisine, Japanese Food is simply to die for. Although I am not really a gyoza fan, the stuff they serve in OSAKA OHSHO is one for the books.

Of course, Gyoza is their main selling point but you can't hide the fact that they serve other things than that. You could definitely go here for the other stuff and not eat the dumpling and still make your happy jump for joy.

Start on over with a drink. They serve a variety but I would go for the Mango and Yakult anytime of the day.
Placed in a huge mug, this is refreshing and quite yummy!!!

The OSAKA OHSHO SALAD (195/330PhP) is crunchy at every bite

The greens were fresh and the addition of the walnuts make it reminiscent of the ones served in Cyma. Adding the mango balls sure was a pleasant surprise.

Definitely a favorite, the BLACK VINEGAR CHICKEN (325Php) is a dish that can be your go to every time you visit the place.
It gives you that awesome sweet and sour taste but it isn't too sweet.
The BEEF and EGGPLANT in Special Hoikoro Sauce (300Php) is for people loving the simplicity of the beef.
For fish lovers out there, the GINDARA TERIYAKI (720Php) is a bit pricey but you definitely get a cut of it and you would enjoy the texture and the flavor.
The KUSHE AGE KATSU TOWER (335Php) was on the border for me.
The breadings were a little too thick in my opinion and having cherry tomatoes in the mix was a little surprising.
The BEEF SAIKORO TEPPANYAKI (450Php) is your tender, soft and yummy beef cubes with a side of stir fried veggies.

Now for those not in a sharing mood, you could go for the rice toppings.
Yes, you could opt to get your favorite dishes and smother them on your rice! Now you have a reason to have a go at it even if you are alone. Definitely for the hungry.

This Pork Katsu Curry isn't as spicy that it would not let you enjoy the dish.
The deep fried pork, lets you enjoy the crunchy outside and the soft inside.

You could also have some Tempura for your solo dish. Cooked and deep fried right! Awesome.
One thing I liked about the Chicken Karaage was that the skin was crunchy but it didn't sacrifice the moist, tender and juicy inside.
Believe it or not, they also have Mabo Tofu. For me, it was more on the sweet side. I would have liked it to be a little spicier.
Now, let's go to their BEST SELLER.

That would be the GYOZA. They do it the proper way. Steaming hot and freshly made! You get to mix and match the 3 sauces that they offer and you enjoy it just the way they should be!

You get to choose from 3 different flavors. PLAIN, CHEESE and NORI
The plain would be their base. If you can't decide, you won't go wrong with it.
As for the Nori, it had this smokey flavor. Something that oldies would love.
But for us kids, we enjoy the cheese. IT is served with it oozing out. Best eaten right off the bat. Dip it in the sauce then bam! CHEESE GASM!
 YUMMY!

and you know what, just in case you are dating or have someone with you, you could go for the
FUWATORO TENSHIN HAN GYOZA SET (650 Php). It has 12 pieces of the gyoza, a bowl of Fuwatoro Tenshin Han or the rice with egg and gravy. Plus 2 bowls of Miso Soup and 2 servings of fruits.
The rice, at first glance, looks as if it was mashed potato or something. In reality, it has egg covering it with a ample amount of gravy around.
When you open it, you see the rice steam out. Really soft and darn good!
If you aren't still full, go for their BANANA TEMPURA with homemade ice cream (330Php).
I loved how the ice cream aren't the normal ones. They had matcha, black sesame and I believe vanilla for flavors.

and as with anything, you will be glad to note that I have food in the bag to bring home.. BUSOG!!!

Not just a place for GYOZA, OSAKA OHSHO offers different Japanese food. Even if you don't eat it, you would definitely enjoy other dishes. 300-400 Php per person would do.

  1. The mabo tofu appealed to me the most! It's my first time to see the tofu as a large chunk rather than sliced into smaller squares. Is the Fuwatoro Tenshin Han meant to be a side dish? I think that one alone can make my tummy full. :)
