Ion Orchard's Ginza Bairin

My 2nd day in Singapore was meant for shopping. Who am I kidding? Of course not! It was all for eating! I started it all by meeting up with some of my college buddies. Our meeting place was Ion Orchard since it was the most accessible for all of us.

3 Inch Sin: My favorite Kind of Sin!!!

When you think of love, what food goes into your head? Chocolates would be my answer. It not only goes into my head but also pops in my tummy which melts my heart. Since I am really into gooey melty OMG chocolates, C, S and I went all the way to Millenia Walk for dessert.
Even if we had our late lunch in Chinatown, we traveled far just to get to Millenia Walk.
It wasn't their idea it was mine
(ako na ang may alam sa pasikot sikot LOL!!!).
Yes, it was definitely worth it!

Tian Tian's Chicken in Maxwell Food Centre.

After settling down in my hostel, I got a call from my friend C and S. They were both lost. OMG! I had to instruct them on how to go about and where to find me. I actually told them that if they want I will be the one to pick them up! LOL! IKR! (Taga SG ako?Diba ako ung bisita!!). Good thing, they were able to follow my instructions to the letter and was surprised to see that they were at the hostel's door steps.
With C and S!! If you could remember C had a despidida a few weeks ago. (click here)
Of course after the mandatory hugs, opening of the pasalubongs and making small chit chat in the hostel's lobby, the main question was where to eat. Since I did a little research about the different places I had wanted to go, I already knew where our first stop would be at.
Hello Maxwell Food Centre!

Good Food Better Friends at Cafe Juanita

One would think that kind, caring and down to earth persons are now on the endangered specie list. Living in a world like ours would definitely push us to think such.
They are part of a rare breed and must be cherished.
I think I got lucky and I met a person such as this on the blogosphere.

Known to the public as Ms. Sugar, Spice and everything Nice, Mommy Jane to some and Mama Bear to me, she is one of the few that I believe is part of this classification. She is really really really caring and oh so sweet. She is definitely a keeper. No wonder why she has a lot of followers on instagram and even on her blog Sugar, Spice and everything Nice. It was because of her that I got into this world of blogging in the first place. She kept on pushing me after guest blogging on hers.
From her blogger profile
I have actually been wanting to go out and meet her in person for the longest time but since I am from the north and she from the south, it seemed impossible. Our schedule just won't collide.
On a day of days, I was lucky enough to have some paperwork to attend to that I was able to schedule a dinner date with this wonderful person!

Staying at Adler Hostel Singapore

I honestly didn't know where to stay in Singapore. Since I was only going there for a few days and I was alone at that, I wanted an affordable but safe and clean place. I also wanted to be near public transportation as it is the main travel mode of everyone residing in Singapore.
It was great that I came across this hostel.
After a little research on the web, I found out that this hostel had rave reviews. It only started its operation just last December 2012. It was owned and operated by a backpacker himself so the service really caters to the needs of a frequent traveler. I was sold. I booked instantly. Inquiries were also replied almost immediately.

McSing: Sg's McDonald's

After getting off the plane, I was a bit hungry because I didn't really like the corned beef served to us during my flight in (click here).
So the first thing I did was to look for a quick meal.

Almost Complete at Ganso Shabuway

Ever noticed why I don't venture that much into cooking places? Like where you grill the food or when you cook it yourself. If you checkout my archive, I never go to a place where you have to cook yourself. Except for one place, Ganso Shabuway (previous post here).
I remembered the last time I was here, I was dragged and pulled and pushed because my dad wanted to eat shabu shabu. I prayed that we go to a place where there would be cooked food already rather than us having to cook it for ourselves. I told myself that I do not want to cook to eat especially when it is in a restaurant.
In fairness though, I liked their fresh cut of meat. Full of Flavors!

What's in the Bag: Sweet Seasons

I was dumbfounded. I didn't know what to give a few of my friends who are going to see me in Singapore. I think I should not have told them that I would be going there. The fact that I was only traveling alone should scream, I wanted to rest and relax. LOL.
After searching the internet, I came across this.

What's in the Bag: TWG

Can you guess what is in the bag?
It ain't tea~!
After watching Tatum's sexy ass and Jamie Foxx' witty lines in White House Down (Olympus Has Fallen is that you?), K and I had a sweet craving. So what's new? Then I remembered that TWG opened its store in Shangri-la East Wing just last July 5, 2013.

Zao Vietnamese Bistro in Shangri-La

Later in the afternoon after Stacy's, I hanged out with one of my friend Ms. K. Now this girl is hot, sexy, small that she needs to wear wedge just to reach my shoulder petite (I am so dead!) and taken. She has self control that any girl would be jealous off when it comes to going to the gym. But when we go out, we eat like hell! ( Case in point. See previous posts with her). Now, for this afternoon, we planned something different. We went to Shangri-la mall and tried something new.
We both haven't eaten Vietnamese food yet so we didn't know what to expect when we tried Zao.

Stacy's Breakfast

After escaping from chores and eating at Borough. My mother was hungry and we needed a place to eat at.
Since I didn't want to venture out because of the nightmarish early morning traffic that we had endured, we opted to eat somewhere near our place.

Borough Revisited for Breakfast

It was a hellish kind of day. I haven't eaten breakfast yet. Argh. I was stuck on Edsa for 2 hours! From East Ave to Ortigas took me 2 ... not 1 but 2 hours! I could have gone to Subic or Tagaytay with that kind of time. No wonder the MMDA is contemplating having a new kind of scheme to ease the traffic situation along this major thoroughfare.
Borough's Side Entrance!!
Once we got to Ortigas, I quickly did my round about and snuck out. I needed to eat breakfast but It was way too early for some of the establishments in Ortigas. Rather than going to a fast food joint, I walk the long path and ended up in Podium.

TBT Staycation at The Lighthouse

What seems like years back, I had my first experience of going out and sleeping away from my family. I had to drive from Quezon City all the way from Pasay to Subic. (Don't ask ... won't tell). It was during those times that I really wanted to relax and think about what I was currently doing. I needed to reassess myself. (and I needed to impress someone LOL!)
So, I "stole" my car and went on an overnight stay in the Lighthouse Marina Resort.

Food Coma in Urbn

It was a few hours before my smaller bigger brother's 16th birthday.  The celebrant wanted something different. According to him different is good. Fine, different it is. We opted to do something different just to mix it up (Yes I know.. different). I then took a chance and looked for a place where my family hasn't been to yet. Most often than not, we frequent Shangri-La Mall. So on this occasion, we ventured to BGC. Although I usually go out and eat here, my family doesn't.
We took a plunge and dived in Urbn.

Resorts World Cinema : Open 24 Hours During Weekends

She still didn't want to go home! OMG! I asked her what she wanted to do. No idea was the immediate reply. Thinking logically, we made a list and picked what we can actually do. So, we already ate. EX to that. We already had some booze in our system. Check. We could either go to a bar or watch a movie. Yep! That is right. In case you guys didn't know, Resorts World Manila has a 24 hour cinema during the weekends. Usually 2-3 of their 4 cinemas would be playing non-stop. Since we weren't dressed appropriately (I thought we were just going to eat out and do some chores!!!), we opted to go for the movie.

Ice Cream Cravings with Merry Moo

After our drinking spree in Skinny Mike's, K and I had to walk it off. Being the responsible guy that I am, I had to be sure I could drive and no longer woozy.
Tipsy enough to take a picture of our shoes.
K was craving for some sweets. She wanted ice cream. The problem was that it was already past midnight. Good thing our walking and goofing around led us to the nearby mercato centrale.

Skinny Mike's

After a not so stellar dinner in Trinoma's CPK, K and I braved the traffic and went on a road trip to get some shots in our system.
I actually wanted to go home at 8pm but no. Ms K had other plans. (As if she is the one driving!)
Remember do not drink and drive. Always be responsible.
Lucky you to have a friend like me.. LOL okay fine.. Same here.

California Pizza Kitchen's Vintage Pizza

Yesterday, I dragged myself out of the comforts of my house to go to Trinoma. I "needed" to buy some pasalubong for my upcoming trip to Singapore. It was bed weather so I didn't really want to go out. But being the responsible friend that I am,  and constant reminder to myself to not procrastinate (argh!), I got in my car and drove to the mall.

After meeting up with K and doing all these "chores", we figured and tried CPK's vintage Pizza.

TBT: Stronghand Shooting Range.

Boys would be boys right? We would always be fascinated by girls, cars, and of course guns.
So last year, I went to Stronghand Shooting Range. It is the only range that I know off that doesn't emit toxic fumes. Remember!!! Normal guns with normal bullets have or emit toxic stuff. Good thing they have special bullets that doesn't make you smell that bad. LOL

Ramen Craze at Ikkoryu Fukuoka

After doing a bit of chores, my mom and I went to Shangrila for lunch.
As usual we got there pretty early. So, we opened the mall for them. LOL!!
Since we were aiming to eat at the new ramen place in the East Wing, we figured that on a weekday there wouldn't be any line.

 Here's what happened.

Booking a Flight with PAL using Metrobank's SOS.

A few weeks ago, I was really down and out for the count.
When there is down, there must be up.
Good thing, an idea got into my head and told me to go out of the country and do a little soul searching. I needed (wanted) to get away from my life. Thus, I had the whimsical idea of going to Singapore alone. I have been there. I got friends there. SO WHAT THE HECK! When I got home, I forced myself to book tickets then bamm!!!!!!! It hit me!!!!! I didn't know anything about doing these kind of things online. I didn't know where to start and how to get tickets for myself. Heck since I didn't want to tell my parents, I had to do it ninja style. (They eventually found out) We would usually have a travel agency book our hotel and flights and fix our itinerary. I was doing this on my own. I opted to try my luck in figuring out how.
Yeah.. all done by our travel agent
