APPLEBEE'S in MANILA: YES PLEASE!

When it comes to American food, one of the best places to go to would be APPLEBEE'S. With a few stores in the Metro, APPLEBEE'S is sure to make your taste buds jump with joy. Recently, APPLEBEE'S has created a few dishes to entice the public to head on over and enjoy one heck of a meal.
The best time to be at APPLEBEE'S would be during happy hour. They're quite generous. From 2 in the afternoon to 7pm and 10pm up until closing, guests could indulge and try out the different draft beers and cocktails for only 89Php. Not bad. Plus, they now carry the ENGKANTO. A local craft beer-line developed for the Filipino taste buds. Partnered with the crispy deep fried pickles, you'll definitely enjoy this one.
Another delicious starter would be the SOUTHERN BEEF BRISKET QUESADILLA. Shredded beef brisket is tossed with spices and other secret ingredients to create a darn good filling.
For health conscious patrons, APPLEBEE'S has a few salad that would make your mouth water. One of them would be the GRILLED WATERMELON and SPICY SHRIMP SALAD. Juicy and sweet, the watermelon has complimented the greens and the shrimps. Another one would be the BUFFALO CHICKEN SALAD. With a bleu cheese dressing, chicken tenders are the main attraction for this salad.
If there was one dish that I would go back for, it would be the FIRECRACKER SHRIMP.
A cheesy and gooey mac and cheese, this pasta is perfect to go with the deep fried shrimps. A little spicy, it's a nice wake me up for anyone that would try it out.
Burgers are also a main thing at APPLEBEE'S. The main man though would be the TRIPLE MEAT ALL-IN BURGER. A combination of USDA BEEF BURGER PATTY with smoked bacon and shredded beef brisket. Served in a toasted brioche bun, this is one heck of a mouthful.

A pleasant and appetizing surprise would be the PORK LIEMPO ADOBO. Pork Belly is cooked with a soy vinegar sauce that makes it to die for. Partnered with fried rice, this is one heck of a dish.
A number of desserts were also part of the new menu. From a hot fudge sundae, to a S'mores Creme Brulee, and a Naoffee Cheescake, you won't go wrong with any of them.

Applebee's knows how to treat its guests right. They try to create dishes that would work well with the Filipino palette. Something that other restaurants might want to think about doing also. Cheers.

APPLEBEE'S now open in EASTWOOD

One thing always leads to another. Hence, APPLEBEE'S recently opened another branch in Quezon City. Located in the Citywalk area of Eastwood, APPLEBEE'S is a welcome addition to the restaurant vibe in the metro.
Unassuming and somewhat hidden in plain sight, the newest restaurant in Eastwood is nestled on a second floor of what will be IHOP. Don't worry as they are currently installing elevators to help the guests enter the restaurant and not use the stairs.

A well stocked bar is also located in the alfresco area of APPLEBEE'S.
Here, they have a plethora of cocktails to choose from. Perfect to spend a lazy afternoon or a night of unwinding.

To start the meal, one could go for the SRIRACHA SHRIMPS. Crunchy and coated with a spicy sauce, this is pretty good. I liked the seasoning and the fact that it was not overwhelming.
Salads are also masterfully done in APPLEBEE'S. You could choose to make your own but having an Sweet Asian flavored dressing would work. Grilled shrimps would make a perfect add on as well.

A crowd favorite, the WONTON TACO is screaming with texture and flavor. Wonton wrappers were deep fried to create a shell. A little on the sweet side, this could pass off as an Asian Mexican flavor fusion.

Surprisingly, the MEATBALLS were soft, delicious and flavorful. Compared to other restaurants, APPLEBEE'S version has real meat flavor. Having some tomato sauce also helped it out.
The 4 Cheese Mac and Cheese would be perfect for kids and kids at heart. The cheesy flavor works well with the Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. I could see myself going back just because of this dish and the tacos!
Uniquely APPLEBEE'S, the QUESADILLA BURGER. The juicy burger went well with cheese and the quesadilla wrap. Tender and delightfully good. Yummy.
The BBQ PORK RIBS is somewhat different from others that I have tasted. Usually, it would be fall off the bones and could have been a little overcooked. Their version has tender meat but it still sticks to the bones, making it easier to eat with your hands.
I also like the fact that APPLEBEE'S offer meals less than 600 calories. One of them is this 3 cheese with chicken and a side salad. A little lighter compared to the 4 cheese, I was pleased with how filling this meal was even if it was less than 600 calories.
APPLEBEE'S has a lot of playful desserts. From an ice creamed black forest mug to a butter pecan blondie, you could get what your taste buds would crave for.
APPLEBEE'S is now open in EASTWOOD CITY WALK in Quezon City. Affordable and quality dishes done right. Cheers.

APPLEBEE'S in BGC: Celebrating Everything during Happy Hour

Time for a drink. One or two or three. That is what Applebee's is.
IT's a whole new different ball game. APPLEBEE'S entered the Filipino Food Scene by storm. It may not be as grandiose as it's sister restaurant but they did send out one clear message. CELEBRATE EVERYTHING! APPLEBEE'S could be seen as an all out sports bar by some but APPLEBEE'S in BGC is more of a upscale hangout place. Different from the ones in the United States.

The place has an industrial vibe. Light bulbs for an art installation and even huge decors. Different from other APPLEBEE'S. The first floor is more of a waiting bar area.
The second floor, on the other hand, has an open kitchen. The couches give off that homey feel.
A reason to visit APPLEBEE's though is their HAPPY HOUR! When in BGC, I have a couple of go to restaurants because they are affordable and they have HAPPY HOUR. Thankfully, APPLEBEE's has that and more. From 2pm to 7pm and 10pm to closing, they have their HAPPY HOUR.
They have a whole list of drinks to choose from. The mojito and the tequila sunrise came in as the recommended drinks. They weren't as strong and they had a more fruity taste. Perfect!
First up was the POT STICKERS (175Php). Think deep fried wanton dumplings. Served with peanut and soy dumpling sauce.
Since this is happy hour, they also had BONELESS CHICKEN BITES (195Php). Rather than having a messy happy hour, APPLEBEE's figured that having no bones is better. I got to agree with that.
The most epic dish though was the WONTON TACO (175Php). This is just awesome. A little spicy but the tacos were perfectly made. Deep fried tacos shells were used and the fillings were straight on.
Because we were a big group, we also had the SWEET POTATO FRIES. ONE awesome fact: It is served with BACON RANCH DIP! Can you say OMG?! So freaking good that I couldn't help myself from getting one after another and dipping it in the sauce. Simple but so good.
For something a little more "healthy", they had these Veggie Fries called GREEN BEAN CRISPERS. Yes, I kinda stayed away from it.
For something a little heavy, they have the  QUESADILLA BURGER. Aside from the oozing cheese, you have ground beef to make it the perfect burger. HUGE!

For something more familiar, they have the CLASSIC BURGER. Here, bacon are added. Just plain old fashioned burger with huge amount of bacon!!! SARAP!
For something smoky, the BOURBON BLACK AND BLEU BURGER would be ideal. Aside from the ground chuck patty and the bacon, you have a mix of bourbon caramelized onion, jack and bleu cheese. Damn.
The FIESTA LIME CHICKEN is one huge dish. Chicken covered with a mix of mexi-ranch and jack cheddar. The taste is definitely FIESTASY and ideal for someone that loves cheese.
The PORK RIBS though are your bet. If you like it old fashioned, they have fall off the bones ribs.

For dessert, you could go for their sizzling brownie. Please pardon me as I have forgotten the real name of this dish. BUT, that says it all. Candied pecan nuts on top of a brownie layed on a sizzling plate. Becareful though, it is a bit hot. Nice way to finish a meal.

APPLEBEE'S in BGC is a great place to enjoy happy hour. Friends, family and even love ones would have fun drinking at affordable prices. Having great choices for bar chows and drinks makes APPLEBEE'S a real competitor in the area. Will definitely return for that Happy Hour though!! YOHOOOO!!!
