F1 HOTEL MANILA: FUN SUMMER STAYCATION

There's a couple of reasons why I always see myself going back to F1 HOTEL in BGC. It's because of the hospitality and also of the entire stay experience. I have been to this hotel a number of times already, and yet I see myself coming back for more.
For lunch, it seems that the buffet has a lot of new things that guests would enjoy. Aside from the usual salad and seafood spread, they have a sort of Filipino-Mexican theme going.
There was a mix between distinctly Filipino dishes and some Mexican flavors. Examples would be the Chicken Adobo Enchiladas, Chipotle Chicken, Shrimp Halabos, and a lot more.
Patrons would also be treated to the amazing home made chicharon. These are crunchy and perfect to go with a glass of beer.
The Grilled Squid was also flavored with Spanish-Mexican flavors as well. It's succulent and isn't overcooked. There wasn't any rubbery feeling with each bite. If you're up for it, their sinigang is Mexican flavored and goes well with rice. Speaking of rice, they have a fried rice station just for you.
Since Filipinos love tempura so much, they had different versions. From shrimps, squid, and even clams. What differs is the dipping sauce. It's made in such a way that it screams Filipino.
Of course accommodation at the F1 HOTEL in BGC is a pretty chill. From their suites and deluxe rooms, they have promos for the everyday traveler and even staycationers.
The gym and the pools are both inviting. One could go there with the love ones to enjoy the weather and the water.
Another thing that F1 HOTEL does great is that they strive to elevate their game. At night time, the CANARY LOUNGE transforms itself into a beach vibe chill place that even features an acoustic session with Jet Barrun every Friday at 8pm to 12mn.
For that special night, an outdoor bbq grill was prepared by the guys from the kitchen.
There was a lot of grilled dishes that were shared with everyone.
Aside from the sausages, chicken, and tune skewers, there was also baked oysters.
Guests could also enjoy the New Canary lounge as they also offer a number of drinks that goes well with the boards. It could be cheese or a mix of tapa's and cold cuts.
Kids are not left out as there's a station that focuses on their happiness. They could have cotton candy and even popcorn. I heard there's even an Outdoor Movie Nights every Saturday and Sundays.
For the HOLY WEEK, there are EASTER ROOM PACKAGES that would be perfect for family bonding.
F1 Hotel BGC is a great place to stay at when everyone is out of town. Aside from the quite time you'll experience, you get to have BGC all to yourself.

LUZVIMINDA YEAR 5: A Day Filled with Delicious Filipino Food at F1 Hotel in BGC

It seems that F1 Hotel in BGC has done it again. Believe it or not, it is now their 5th year celebrating the LUZVIMINDA FILIPINO FOOD FESTIVAL. For something to reach this long, it says a lot about how awesome their celebration is year after year. Just in time for Independence Day, they brought out the best and brightest to serve their guests. Let's see how it goes.
A fusion of flavors, this time F1 HOTEL has invited three prestigious and well acclaimed chefs to spear head this endeavor. Chef Mikel Zaguirre for Luzon, Chef Dennis Uy for Visayas, and Chef Kalel Chan for Mindanao. Each of them having years of experience made sure to bring out different delicacies with a twist.
Right off the bat, they prepared a gorgeous fresh seafood and grill section. Guests are encouraged to get a couple and ask them to be cooked based on their preference. This is where the familiar buffet set up stops. Different items were laid on the spread to entice and get foodies excited about the new and innovative dishes to try out from different regions of the Philippines.
Even if oysters are supposed to be eaten with a full stomach, you must get your hands on these GRILLED BAGAYBAY on OYTERS. One quick chat with Chef Kalel and it made my curiosity squirm with delight. "Remember to swallow", he said. TO the uninitiated, the Bagaybay is basically fish sperm. Granted that it sounds weird to try this out, don't let it hinder you. The flavors and the texture goes well with each other. Believe me, you won't regret getting a couple.
Hard to describe, yet tremendously delicious would be the BALAW-BALAW. Another name for this dish would NILATIK NA HIPON. Quite weird but dastardly genius. I just caught myself getting more of this as it goes well with hot steaming rice.
Who would have thought to do this to crispy pata? The CRISPY PATA ROULADE by CHEF MIKEL made buffet lovers line up over and over again just to get these. Deep fried exterior but its meat is quite tender.
The CHICKEN INASAL is another dish from Chef Dennis. Giving a vivid surprise to taste buds, there is something special about this grilled chicken. The flavors are all absorbed properly by the meat.
Another traditional dish would be the HUMBA. A sweet pork that is quite similar to the Adobo in terms of appearance. But, it ends there as the sauce and the meat is sweeter than usual. In other regions, this is served with pineapple as a way to make it fruitier.
A block buster would be the RIBEYE RENDANG. The RIBEYE was worth the line up. Smooth and soft meat partnered with a spicy rendang flavor. This was a crowd favorite.
Aside from these dishes, different appetizers and short plates were prepared. More so they even have GINATAANG CURACHA SA ALIGUE, KBL, a 30 Hour Sous Vide Adobo with Ginata, BULALO STATION with huge grilled bone marrow, and a PHYLLO WRAPPED SALMON served with ITLOG NA MAALAT SAUCE. Dessert was also well thought off as traditional flavors were given different interpretation.
A visit to F1 HOTEL would not be complete without a stay in one of their rooms. The CITY SUITE ROOM is perfect for a family or a group of friends wanting space, leisure, and relaxation. A divider separates the beds from a lounge that also has its own television and sofa.
Gatherings are also perfect in F1 Hotel. With huge conference space and ball rooms to use, one can't help but enjoy the stay. Very accessible and quite glamorous, these ballrooms could cater to a small group of 30 to as big as a few hundred guests.
For dinner, F1 hotel graciously prepared a number of dishes that is perfect for everyone. Aside from appetizers like the DINUGUAN VOL AU VENT and the BACON CHEESE LUMPIA, other creative dishes were served.
The CHICKEN PIYANGGANG SKEWERS were heavy favorites as they were easy to eat and filled with depth. The burnt coconut gave the chicken more flavor. Another genius creation would be the LONGGANISA STUFFED LECHON BELLY. Crispy skin and tender meat greeted each bite. The sausage gave off a little sweet surprise to the salty dish. This was just amazing.

For drinks, F1 Hotel got you covered as well. In partnership with DESTILERIA LIMTUACO, they have created different solid and devilish cocktails to make you enjoy the party more.
From GREEN MANGO flavored drink to SINIGANG and even Pineapple, these refreshing delights are just what the doctor ordered. Considered as sweet, sour, and even savory, these are great concoctions that would make your mother proud. If you have the time, I dare you to try out their INTRAMUROS. It's a sweet chocolate drink that you would enjoy.
Dessert, on the other hand, would never go wrong with AGING'S FOOD DELIGHT. Known for their sticky rice delicacies, AGING'S has been creating more and more delightful snacks to make your FILIPINO PRIDE jump with joy
It was even incredible of them to create this huge BILAO or circular basket filled with sticky and sweet rice dessert creation.
It was an independence day weekend worthy of another re-run. The dishes served made it very memorable as this has got to be an underrated foodie event. With Chef MIKEL, DENNIS and KALEL, you won't have to worry about the delightful spread they have in store for you. The LUZVIMINDA BUFFET would run up until June 30. I would suggest you order one of those limited edition cocktails as they would go well with the dishes as well.

EASTER STAYCATION at F1 HOTEL MANILA

During the holy week break in Manila, more and more families tend to just stay in the metro rather than go out and realize the pain and suffering they must endure with the traffic and the amount of people they have to contend with. Of course, it's always nice to return to the province and meet up with family and friends but there's something relaxing about staying in.
F1 HOTEL MANILA ensures that your stay is a notch above the rest. All day long you could stay in your room and just dwell in the comfort of the bed while watching cable tv or listening to some sounds. Furthermore, they have some fun activities in store for the little ones.
Checking in was a breeze. More so if you have access to the Premier Lounge. Here, all day snacks, coffee and tea are prepared to make your life happier.
The gym is waiting for those fitness buffs. They also have 3 pools to cater to your needs. From kids, to young adults and a lap pool that could have you going back and forth.
Food is not a problem with F1 Hotel Manila. They have an all day outlet that serves dishes created and executed by Chef Decker Gokioco. For the lenten season, they saw it fit to focus on seafood although they did offer an amazing rendition of CHICKEN KUSHIKATSU.
Deep fried and boneless, this chicken was served with a mango salsa making the flavors pop. Each bite would yield something delicious. Perfect to go with rice.
Seafood lovers could go for the burnt coconut mahi-mahi or the tiger prawns with panko sesame crust. The mahi mahi is covered with herbs and spices to make it compliment with the coconut. The shrimps reminded me of an inside out tempura. The breading is in between the meat making it burst with each bite.
Dinner also focused more on seafood dishes. There was a mixture of fish and squid to make a churros of sort. Properly deep fried and burnt to a degree, it could give off an addicting bar chow vibe.
A sensational dish would be the Phyllo-crusted SALMON with Okra Frites, soy and sesame sauce and gari. The salmon was flaky and wonderfully seasoned. There was a sense of healthy vibe but one would wonder how it could such when it is so good.
To finish things off, the BLACK PEPPER CRABS would be a delightful way to make your meal stand out. Although admittedly hard to remove each meat, the flavors are right there for the taking.
Breakfast will be served at the all day dining buffet. One thing that you must always go for would be the bacon! It's extremely crunchy and juicy. It's like everything that you would want is put into that single piece of meat.
With the vacation season upon us, F1 Hotel Manila is the place to be at. Perfect for a little rest and relaxation, this hotel is situated right smack in the middle of BGC. Different high end restaurants are all within walking distance as well. Can't wait to go back.

THE KAIN TULOG GANG'S 2016 Christmas Party at F1 Hotel Manila

Being early has its perks. In any event, be it a meeting or even a Christmas Party, you get rewarded if you arrived before anyone else could be there.
This year, The KAIN TULOG GANG'S Annual Christmas Party was celebrated in F1 HOTEL, BGC. Everything was prepared and on point when we arrived. The Sound System and Karaoke was set up and also the food was already there.
Having Chef Decker on the helm, has its benefits. you get to enjoy different dishes that are delicious. Each time we visit, new items are curated and we get to try something mouth watery. The Salmon was cured and well marinated that it produced an incredible yield. It was creamy and flavorful. The Pork Barbecue was something different. The original recipe was created by the Chef's dad making it a family secret. The saltiness and the sweetness both combined to make a perfect dish to partner with rice.
Expecting the usual is not going to fly here. The CRISPY PATA was stuffed with sausages. It was one deadly yet appropriate dish for the gang.
During this time of thankful holiday gathering, we also welcomed some guests.
AGING'S SUMAN ESPESYAL brought in a dessert counter filled with different sticky rice and dessert flavors. Known for their sweet and simple creations, you won't go wrong with any.
YAMI CAKES sent on over a few boxes of soft cakes. Personal favorite would be the ube and the mocha flavors. These aren't too sweet and are a nice giveaway for the Christmas Season.
CAPITAL DEL MAR sent on over a gift basket that included some of their bangus creations. Created and sourced from the outskirts of Roxas City, you are guaranteed of its quality.
Ever present, JAM FOODS sent on over some delicious ANGUS TAPA. Very easy to cook, these go well with a steamy bowl of rice and some fried egg.
Last but not the least, KITAYAMA MEAT SHOP had us jumping for joy as they got us this huge as steak. Honestly, its quite hard to cook this as it was around 2 inches thick. Thankfully, they gave instructions and are very helpful when asked on how to go about it.
Thank you Jaz of +ERICJAZ FOODIES for the photo
Another lovely Christmas Party from F1 HOTEL and The KAIN TULOG GANG.
