AWESOME! at MUNCHTOWN

There are times when you just got to have great food with awesome movies. Thankfully, there is this one restaurant that you get just that. AWESOME FOOD!
Located just outside of the new cinemas in Greenhills, MUNCHTOWN serves whatever you may want while watching the movie. From pizzas to dogs to burgers. Along with friends, I was able to try out the new stuff.
To start things off, we had some fries.
Not just ordinary fries but AWESOME FRIES!
Freshly cut potatoes does the trick every time.

BLUE CHEESE FRIES with CHICKEN LIVER
The fries were gorgeous. Properly cooked! I wasn't a liver fan but I did try a bite. It has a crunchy outside and there... that's all I am going to say.

PULLED PORK POUTINE. Gravylicious. Enough said!YUMMY

I already had a dose of MUNCHTOWN even before. I was glad we were also given a chance to try out the burger. THE BLACK ANGUS CHEESEBURGER didn't disappoint. One thing you must know about me is that I am picky with my burgers. One of those places that I love to get them is at MUNCHTOWN. The meat was properly cooked and the bread was awesome! I know I just keep on saying awesome but damn it is!! TIP: go for the sliders so more munching can happen!
Now here comes the party. It was HOTDOG HEAVEN!!!
One thing that would make you appreciate MUNCHTOWN is that they make their own breads. Yep, they are awesome like that. Crunchy outside but not too much, yet fluffy and soft inside like a baby's bottom.
I just wanted to mush my face in those glorious buns! Damn!

The dogs are pretty much dogs. Flavorful and hits the spot for those epic cravings.

The DEPUTY DOG - savory flavors rolled into one. Russian dressing, cheddar cheese, pulled pork.
LE POODLE- pickles, brie and caramelized onions; weird but i did love the pickles!
CHILI DOG- Chili Con Carne Goodness!
EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK- If you want everything! A little bit too much for me.. but heck!
 PIZZA DOG- For pizza lovers
NAKED DOG- if you want the plain stuff and you are cutting down on your calories. LOL!
REUBEN DOG - REUBEN turned into a dog!!
CHICAGO DOG- HOT stuff coming through. Spicy with all of the veggies and peppers!
SURF DOG - think about the beach and you chilling. Now this dogs reminds you of the flavor of onions and bell peppers
BLT - Bacon Lettuce Tomato - you can't go wrong with this.
 NEW YORK CLASSIC- sauerkraut goodness!!!
TACO DOG- for taco lovers out there.
Of course, you need to push them all into your tummy right? So they also got awesome MILKSHAKES
L-R : Oreo Overload (190Php) - I have no idea but it was sweet and awesome! - Salted Caramel (190Php)

You could expect to pay a little bit higher than the usual hole in the wall movie place but you will definitely get what you pay for! The quality and the flavors are top notch and is just what the foodie ordered! Budget around 200-300Php per person. I would suggest you try out their promos as they have buy one take one dogs, pizzas during the weekday.

SARSA KITCHEN and BAR Revisited

Not the First time, but definitely not the last. SARSA has been on the radar of foodies ever since it opened. Negrense dishes were served to different heights and yet everything was simple and done to we like to say as MASARAP or delicious.
Since the family was celebrating Father's Day, my family and I head on over to BGC. Dad loving everything simple and Filipino, I knew he would enjoy this place.
The place was packed right on the dot. 11am it opened and the place was filled with patrons with just 10 minutes. Thankfully, we had the foresight of getting reservation and didn't have to wait a single minute.

The server informed us of the things that were served quick and fast since the place was full. We figured we might wait a while so we got the PANARA ROLLS (180Php).
Basically togue or mung bean filled rolls. As the name of the resto implies, its the sauce that made the difference. Served with Tokwa't Baboy Sauce. It went well with the deep fried rolls.

The SARSA BATCHOY (275Php - special) was definitely a crowd favorite.
Served with egg, bone-marrow and bacon cut liempo.
The soup was just incredible. Milky and soup. Not too rich but you would love it. The serving size was also good for 2-3 persons. WORTH GOING BACK FOR!
We tried the LECHON MANOK SALAD (240Php).
Served with pickled vegetables and kesong puti. Dressing of Mango Tuba.
I think this dish needed a little more development as it wasn't that remarkable for me.

To start the BBQ, we had sticks of ISOL (170Php) or chicken tail
Juicy butt!!!
and some ISAW (155Php) or chicken intestine.
It was crunchy and didn't have any of that weird after taste of the usual street food we would have.

In case you haven't been paying attention, this is a Filipino Themed Restaurant, and as such, you can't go on and not order rice. The GINAMOS FRIED RICE (55Php/Cup) was incredible good since the damn good stuff was on top of it!!! Incredible.
Of course, who would go here and not order the chicken (175Php/part).
The flavor was intense to say the least. Pair this up with the sauces and you are good to go.
Let's go on over the healthy, ehem stuff we got. LOL!
The GRILLED OYSTER MUSHROOM (140Php) is definitely for those veggie lovers. It gives the flavor one could get from any of the grilled offerings just that its mushroom. A little disappointed with this as it was supposed to be served as an appetizer but it was brought to our table way way way into the meal.
Another healthy option would be the ROASTED KALABASA with GREEN BEANS and CRISPY DILIS (190Php). Although the flavors were there, I would have liked the veggies mushed up as when we previously ordered this on a previous visit. The texture component could have improved with that.
Dad loves his fish so he got the SIZZLING BAGUS ala POBRE (295Php).
He enjoyed it, so I will take his word.
The TORTANG TALONG with Crispy Sardines and Kesong Puti (165 Php) wasn't right.
It was weird to say the least. One bite and we left it there. Skip!
Moving on to my favorites and the not so healthy stuff...
The PORK GINAMOS GATA (270Php) was delightful. Yes it was a bit heavy but, the gata or sauce made the flavors jump in my mouth. I liked it.
Another must try would be the SIZZLING KANSI (380Php).
Sort of their go to dish, the gravy is awesome and the bone marrow is fatty and deadly!
Just look at that gooey fatty marrow!!!

The place definitely is simple. Family friendly and is easy with the pocket. Dishes not going above 400Php range, you could budget around 300Php per person. Suggest you get a reservation or go on a non peak hour as the place is easily filled. Parking is a hassle so go early. Limited slots at the back but you could park at the strip and walk.

Late Lunch at Cerchio

It was an awful day for me when I heard the news. I needed to cut back on a lot of things so to cheer me up, my mom and brother brought me to Tomas Morato for a quick late lunch. We really didn't have any place in mind so we led ourselves to CERCHIO.

The place was almost deserted with just 2-3 tables occupied as the lunch service was coming to an end. Good thing the good people in the restaurant allowed us to get in there and have our grub.

To start things off, we got the LEMONADE and the COOL as CUCUMBER.

The lemonade was really sour while the Cucumber drink was refreshing although a bit too sweet for me.

Since, I was trying to go healthy, I started the meal with an order of pumpkin soup. It was pretty much affordable as it was only less than a hundred and yet the serving size was good for 2-3 persons. Totally bung for buck.
We also had their take on CEASAR SALAD. A bit of a let down if you ask me. Seeing the cheese itself wasn't that  appetizing. It was that powdery type of cheese you get off the shelf. It would have been better if it was grated kind.

I believe one of CERCHIO's best seller would be their take on the SISIG.
Basically 3 cups of sisig and eggs on top. It was oily to say the least. Too greasy for my taste and it lacks that crunch one would look for in sisig.
Another so-so dish is the GARLIC PASTA. I wasn't really pleased with this dish,
The garlic taste was lacking. To say it bluntly, the flavor was mild. The addition of the powder cheese wasn't welcomed also.
The most impressive dish we had was the PERI-PERI CHICKEN. The chicken meat was moist and properly marinated. The flavor went all in and I love the smokey feel it gave.
Although the dishes are really affordable, i don't know if we just came on a bad time, but I wasn't really that impressed. There were some ups and downs with the meal but definitely it would be a great place for one to just chill and relax. The service was sometimes there and at times it wasn't. I would suggest you ask for candles as there were fliers left and right. Parking is available infront and budget around 300-400 Php per person.

Eric Kayser now in Greenhills Promenade

My love affair with bread has started ever since I was but a tiny big boy. I love how it makes my tummy go "bumbumbum". How glad I became when I learned that one of those awesome bread places that I looked up to opened up in Greenhills Promenade.
ERIC KAYSER
Last July 2, 2014, Eric Kayser officially started serving people in the north through their Greenhills Branch. No need to go to their Power Plant Branch (click here to see). Although they are still in their soft opening, you could be happy to note that they create most of their bread in house as they now have a kitchen to prepare everything you would want.
From their famous chocolate croissants.
It definitely needs to be heated and placed in the over to regain that crunch.
Flavor wise, you won't go wrong with it.
I love the proper choice and use of the chocolate to help the bread give that flavor.
Yep, they now offer coffee too.

Although it taste pretty normal, it goes well with your meal.

What's in the bag? Well you guessed it, I just had to have my take away...
My Epic Stash!!!
Famous cookies. You won't go wrong with them. A batch of the best cookies in town. Grabe.

and of course, some croissant and chocolate croissant.
Just to note, the plain croissant's is everything but plain. The buttery inside really gives off that kick that would lead you to slurp your fingers when you eat them.
Yep, I just so love my breads.
Since they are just in their Soft Opening Period, there are just some kinks in the service. Of course tolerable, but they have a lot to make up. Definitely a little pricey compared to other breakfast bread places, but you get what you pay for. Budget around 400 Php per person. They plan to open early in the morning but at the mean time, they start serving around 10am-10pm.
