It was an occasion that I wasn't going to pass up. Before the end of the year, a little get together was arranged by Mela of The Rain Tree Group. I ended up going a bit early and this is what I saw.
So when I entered KABILA in Greenbelt, I was actually surprise with all the decors and the table set up. It was the perfect little Christmas get together. A great choice for a Christmas party or a simple rendezvous.
 To start, drinks were served.
I was able to try their version of a gin pomelo with cucumber. It was a bit too strong for me so I tried to take small sips only. I tasted something refreshing. Maybe next time, I would ask the staff to lower the alcohol content.
Different appetizers were then served to start off the meal.

The ENSALADANG KABILA is their version of a salad. The use of pomelo and sweet nuts gave this a great twist. I enjoyed partnering this with the different dishes served.
Up next was the DINAKDAKAN. Different crispy and fried pork bits were added to a sort of grilled pig meat. A side of vinegar with some soy is just perfect.
If that wasn't enough, MELTED KESONG PUTI was placed infront of me. The cheese was a bit sweet so I couldn't stop myself from getting one after another.
Then the main courses arrived.
The PORK BELLY ROLL had a crispy layer of skin. The meat and the fat content was deadly that you might want to lessen intake of such... Then again, you only live once.
Another heart stopper was KABILA's version of BONE MARROW BULALO. A treat from Tagaytay, this soup dish has tender meat and a lot of marrow so it was definitely rich.
The SPICY CHICKEN ADOBO sa PULA, is a version of the adobo. It had a little zing from being spicy but it wasn't too much for me. I enjoyed the flavor profile on this one. Pretty basic but delicious.
For a little bit of "healthy living", the FRENCH BEAN GISING GISING was served. Skipped because it was veggies but it did smelled wonderful. Sort of like curry like.
The PANCIT KABILA reminds me of pansit habhab on a different level. Served in a banana leaf, their version takes me back in time. Old school and yummy.
This colorful dish is actually somewhat healthy. GINDARA MAYONESSA. Underneath all the chopped veggies, their home made mayo is placed on top of the gindara fish. The flavor was smooth and the fish was properly cooked.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the entire meal as I had to go somewhere else. Given the quality of the dishes and the price of around 600++Php per person, this is quite a steal. The flavors give you that Filipino feel. You won't need to clean up after the party and you won't have to pay for the electricity. In my book, that sounds perfect!!!!

  1. What i love about this is that they offer different kinds of meal selection per sets, and the foods are unique, they gave it a more pinoy delicacy twist. :)
