8 SUITES HOTEL TAGAYTAY: An Escape Like No Other

Just a few days ago, I visited 8 SUITES HOTEL in TAGAYTAY. It was a different way of seeing the famous weekend gateaway. I was surprised, to say the least. There was only a few structures around and everywhere I look it would either be tall grass or a pineapple field. It seems as if I was transported back in time. It made me wonder if that was what the commercialized area of Tagaytay was years ago.
The air was clean and the grass tremendously green. The view was incredible. No huge buildings and it was just perfect. The nearest convenience store was around 5 minutes by motorcyle. It seems like I was in a different world. It was sort of an escape from the hustles and bustles of the city.
8 SUITES was actually a university project of David Gomez. Back then, it was either an extreme sports activity company in Boracay or a different property in Palawan. Thinking that the commute might be a bit difficult, he went with Tagaytay. In just a few years, his ROI was achieved and he hasn't looked back. Wanting to create a sanctuary, 8 Suites achieved just that. Rooms were well-groomed and taken cared of. Privacy is a key feature of staying at 8 SUITES in Tagaytay. The staff make sure that you have everything that you need and more.  They also offer glamping as a different take on spending a night in Tagaytay. With future plans to operate and maintain a pool, their garden seems to be a great venue for a little get together between friends or even for a photo shoot.
Recently 8 SUITES partnered with Chef Erica Aquino of 49-B Heirloom fame to transform their quaint dining area into a full-fledged restaurant. With views like that, they would definitely captitalize on dining and privacy.
Chef Erica went ahead and showed us a little bit of what's to come. She had this spring roll with fresh cuts of coconut meat inside. She went further with some paella and lengua sisig to spice things up.
Since sisig isn't for everyone, she also made a sizzling lengua version. The gravy was spot on. It made you want to order another serving of rice. Other appetizers like gambas, salpicao, and cheesy mussels were served.
After all the food that you could have, one could opt for a massage. For me though, their bed is more than enough reason for me to stay at 8 SUITES.

8 SUITES HOTEL in TAGAYTAY is located on Lot 7 Iruhin Ridge View, Barangay Iruhin, Tagaytay.

P.S.
As of 9-27-2019, the access road going to 8 Suites is under construction as part of a road widening and pipe laying project. As such, it would be better to bring a SUV when visiting 8 Suites.

The Boutique Bed and Breakfast: The Real Breakfast in Bed Experience in Tagaytay

The BOUTIQUE BED AND BREAKFAST in Tagaytay has been in The Must Staycation list ever since it first opened a few years ago. Unfortunately, months and years has passed but my schedule doesn't want to fit in.
Thankfully, one weekend I was able to experience Tagaytay's beauty through the eyes of a real bed and breakfast. The BOUTIQUE.

As I parked my car, the staff quickly took care of my luggage and ushered me to their lobby.
Welcome drinks were offered as I was about to embark on a journey of relaxation and comfort. This time around, it was this mocktail of mango slush with a hint of basil. Weird but it works and is actually thirst quenching.
After signing in, I was brought to the back room and experienced the personal touch that The Boutique has been known for. Here, I was able to pick their home made toiletries. From Soap, Shampoo, Lotions and also room scents. For soaps, the Peppermint and the Lavendar are excellent and popular choices.
All of your choices and other staycation essentials were placed in a box and were brought up the room.
In the BOUTIQUE, there are actually just 7 rooms. As such, specialized and individualized service is guaranteed. Each room is differentiated by their names and their motifs and theme. From I LOVE all the way to I DESIRE. Different emotions that leads to a perfect relationship, I believe. This time around I was billeted to the I DREAM.
Upon entering the room, you are greeted by a nice clean white ambiance. It gives off a relaxing and dreamy feeling.
The King size bed is comfortable and has a 300 TC. The bed was comfy not too hard and not too soft.
The number of pillows were actually overwhelming for a guy like me since I only sleep with just a couple.

The room opens up to a balcony and a relaxing view. It has a table, couple of chairs and a day bed. Being this close to nature, could have its ups and downs. The cool mist would definitely lighten up your day but there are also little creatures like insects so remember to always be careful when you go out and open the sliding doors.

A welcome fruit plate was prepared alongside the complimentary water bottles.
On the table side, there were also a bunch of snacks like polvoron, yema and bread sticks. These were so addicting. Thankfully during turn down service, they also refill these treats.
The washroom is simple and straightforward. The toilet has a bidet so it is perfect for hygiene.
Before I could take a quick nap, a quick facial cold stone massage was offered. This is actually part of the room package.

You could actually opt for a foot massage but the facial was just too perfect to pass up.
A breakfast menu of sorts is also placed on the bed for you to choose from. Remember, breakfast in bed is an experience on its own. Thankfully, you get that here at The BOUTIQUE.
Just before my sleep, goodies were served. Usually it would be hot chocolate but since I was on a sugar high, they served tea alongside hot cookies. Something to relax the senses.

The morning after, food greeted me in bed.
Without fail at the specified time, the food I asked for was delivered to me in bed. The staff arranged the table and placed it on my bed.
I got the toasted sausages. These were delightful. They weren't overly sweet nor too garlicky. They were crisp and went perfect with the garlic rice.
With a view like this, I didn't want to leave my room in The Boutique. I wanted to just stay and relax and enjoy the moment.
As I bid farewell, I realized how beautiful The Boutique Bed and Breakfast is. In its own little way, it showed how it is important to be close to nature and see the beauty of it through your own eyes and not just pictures. The BOUTIQUE BED AND BREAKFAST in TAGAYTAY puts service first and is impeccable in that aspect. I felt pampered and relaxed during and after staying. That's why I can see myself going back to it. Cheers.

Affordable Tagaytay with Keni Po

When I want to go on a staycation in Tagaytay, I usually go for some well known hotels BUT, if I am on a budget, I definitely pick one place. That is KENI PO!.

I believe I must have stayed here on a number of times. From just because reasons to I want to relax to a quick getaway.

The place is clean and has a secured parking lot.
The view from my balcony.

After going through all the stuff, you get to have access to their adorable garden in the back. Where you could hungout.

You could even have a quick dip in their pool, provided it isn't that cold.

This time around, I stayed on the 2nd floor.
The kind doorman carried the bags and showed the room.
It was pretty bare but who could complain at the awesome prices.
The one thing I didn't like was that there was no comforter and the blanket was pretty thin. Yet, I had a cold, comfortable and awesome sleep. The place was pretty clean and also they had cold and hot water and a bidet!! Wooohoooo!!!
Aside from the bed, there was free and speedy wifi.
Plus affordable drinks in the ref.
They even have a cable LCD TV and a dvd player. You could borrow dvd's for free from the front desk.

Since I was pooped from all the driving, I got a pizza to go from Buon Giorno in The Cliffhouse.
I guess I also over ordered as I didn't think things through.
I thought there wasn't any rice involve and thus the amount of food I ordered from room service (from 6:30am to 10pm). I got tocino, tokwa't baboy, tilapia and spare ribs. Believe it or not, price was not an issue as it was really competitive and the quality, quantity and the taste was all right for the amount I paid.

With the service that I got and the sleep quality, I was pretty satisfied. The price I paid was spot on. The check in time is 1pm and the checkout was 12noon. For your stay to be reserved, you need to pay 100% of the fee. They don't have credit card on site but you could book through agoda and use your CC there.
