FIRESIDE by KETTLE: Now Open in BGC

Humongous Chicken. With all its glory, I believe that Chef Chiloy of Kettle and Fireside made his restaurants into something wonderful and worthwhile. Just a month or so ago, he went above and beyond by opening FIRESIDE in BGC. His second branch for this restaurant concept, you could say that he is having a grand time.
Situated on the ground floor of the Central Square Mall in BGC, FIRESIDE is the younger and more playful cousin of Kettle. Here, they aim to cater to the young professional crowd that needs quick and delicious meals.
Different alcoholic drinks are present and are available for the diners. Some would enjoy their not so ordinary sangrias. Personal favorite would be the white version. It will go well with the different appetizers that FIRESIDE has to offer.
The chips mixed with truffle and bleu cheese is addicting and could make you get more and more. Partner it with some home made meatballs and you have yourself a whole meal in itself. One could also go for the chicken. With a little hint of spice, it's on the sweet side that would be perfect for the young kids and kids at heart.
The mains are a different treat in itself. You can't go wrong with whatever you pick. A crowd favorite would be the BRISKET SISIG. Being a non-pork dish, this has been an eye opener. A chef's secret, Chiloy mentioned to us that this needs to be partnered with egg and garlic rice. Each bite would remind you of that perfect day.
Adding more good things, one could also go for the meatloaf. It is a half and half of bacon and angus beef. A definite meat lovers delight. If that is not enough, the lamb ribs would also be just right.
As mentioned, people go here for the chicken. The CHICKEN FINGERS is a huge serving of deep fried buttermilk chicken. Coated with cajun ritz breading, you get a crunchy and satisfying bite each time. Served with cornbread doughnuts, you're surely to enjoy each piece.
Dessert is mix of must tries and must haves. There are different cakes that are baked in house. Some would give you that chocolate fix you've been wanting for the longest time. Others would be something lighter like made with coconut.
BUT if it comes down to choosing, SMORES and the DOUGHNUTS are your best bet. SMORES are served burnt and deadly. The doughnuts has salted caramel, raspberry and chocolate on the side.
Located on the ground floor of Central Square Mall in Bgc, Fireside by Kettle is a fiery and delicious way to entice guests to drink up and eat more. Definitely go for the happy hour sangrias!

KETTLE in RESORTS WORLD MANILA: New Dishes to Lure You In

There are only two things that could make me wake up early and commute. One of them is my mom shouting at me and another is great food. Believe it or not, I took a shuttle all the way to RESORTS WORLD MANILA, just to have a taste of KETTLE'S NEW MENU. Yes, the traffic and the distance was worth it.
Located on the top floor, KETTLE recently opened a branch in RESORTS WORLD MANILA'S NEWPORT MALL. A very relaxed and black and white feel, this restaurant is an ideal place to enjoy lunch, dinner or late supper.
To start, SHRIMP TOSTADA was placed on the table. A salsalicious dish, this one is served on a crunchy taco, red pepper and shrimp. It might be a messy taco to eat but it is delicious.
For something healthy, CHEF CHILOY created the PAN FRIED HALIBUT. The fish was cooked perfectly. Soft and tender. If it was up to me, I would have ordered more chorizo brown rice. That rice is just deadly.
For something on the go, you have to order the CHEESETEAK ROLL. This one would be perfect to bring to the movie. The ribeye was tender as one would expect. One thing that got my attention was the BUTTERED ROLL. IT was soft and crisp in all of the right places. Delicious.
As something that meat lovers would prefer, the STEAK FRITES hits the spot. This USDA ANGUS FLANK STEAK is served with shoestring fries and kettle steak butter. Red as one should be, the steaks would go well with rice.
The most deadly and delicious treat that KETTLE will start to serve would be the NORI FRIED CHICKEN in MATCHA WAFFLE. A Japanese style fried chicken bites is placed on top of greet tea waffle. The matcha taste is present and deliciously represented. The white miso butter on the side also had a hint of matcha just so that it balances everything out.
For dessert, KETTLE will be adding the WHITE CHOCOLATE BREAD and BUTTER PUDDING. The caramel sauce partnered well with the ice cream. The pudding has got the chewiness factor perfectly.

"This dishes would come out this week, in all of the KETTLE branches around the Metro. "

KETTLE'S FIRESIDE is HOTTER than your Girlfriend.

DON'T GET MAD! I was only kidding! Of course a gf is a gf but if it would be food, you would be drooling over FIRESIDE.

Upgrading the menu from the usual flare, Chef Chiloy is a genius. Rather than going with the "norm" of his KETTLE (click here and here), he stood up and raised the bar with FIRESIDE. A little familiar but they made changes to elevate the dishes.

FIRESIDE opened up early this year and has never looked back. They remade favorites and brought out the best from different dishes they have.  Almost a remake or a take two but with a better outcome.

The place in itself is simple and direct. It is the food that would make you want to go there.

You could start with this. SWEET CORN CAPPUCCINO (129Php)
Popcorn salt. A crowd favorite. Frothy and soothing.

Salads were also on the menu but you know me. I tend to skip those.

GRILLED CHOP HOUSE SALAD. (189/389 Php)
Greens, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, roasted chicken breast, feta , honey lemon dressing and a lot more greens... Uhm.. yeah too healthy for me.

ASIAN SHRIMP SALAD (299Php)
For the Asian Shrimp lover. This salad is. A lot of greens, with rice noodles, toasted peanuts , lime fish sauce dressing.

FIRESIDE STEAK SALAD (469Php)
A salad that a meat lover would order.
Not because of the greens but because of the US TOP BLADE STEAK.
The onion and zucchini strings are also incredible good to munch on. You could leave the greens to your healthy living friends.

Don't worry from here on out, no more veggies please! So here are the appetizers.

HOT CRAB & ARTICHOKE DIP (279Php)
Crab fat and nacho chips. A must if you are into artichoke dips but I would suggest you go for other appetizers on the menu. To try something different.

I am not really into chicken wings but my brother would love this.
SWEET, SPICY & SALTY WINGS. (3pcs 249/ 5pcs/409Php)

Served with sweet potato hay. These crispy and sweet chickens are really good.

For pica pica , FIRESIDE has a lot of things to offer.

My favorite would be this MASCARPONE CHEESECAKE (359Php)
I couldn't stop getting the freaking mascarpone. It was so good. I even used it as a dip for

the TRUFFLED POTATO CHIPS (199Php)
This was super duper huge! I liked the simplicity of it. A better use of chips compared to the "picnic-like" strips at KETTLE in my honest opinion.

They also have some more interesting stuff for the healthy buffs. CUE in other guys.
SALMONE GRAVLAX TARTAR. (349Php)
baguette chips, cilantro and peppercoulis

Another is the GRILLED HALIBUT. (399Php)
Although not really an appetizer, I placed this here because for me, you only need a few and not too much to taste the flavors. (LOL!!!! and it is too healthy for me)
BACON vinaigrette, quinoa veggie salad

 NOW FOR THE BIG BOYS.
What the chef is known for, the big guns. I liked the way they served these dishes as they are huge in quantity and the quality is incredible.

You got to ready your appetite for this!
DOUBLE CUT PORK CHOP!!! (519Php)

This is one huge dish! Good for 3-4 people I tell you!!! The meat is cut perfectly and it is moist inside and out. I love it!
Honey cider brined, grilled apples, peppercorn mustard cream sauce. grilled veggies.

If pork chop isn't your fancy, they have this APRICOT-CHIPOTLE GLAZED RIBS. (899Php)
Slow roasted baby back ribs. Humongously huge! Pardong but it was just so huge. Two guys can't even finish this.

KETTLE being known for their buttermilk chicken, they made it even better through this BUTTERMILK FRIED CHICKEN FINGERS. 24 hour brined. cajun ritz breading, home style gravy, cornbread donuts. (489Php)
For the price, this dish is worth it. I love the chicken alongside with its sides. Although it lacks that kick to make it standout, the dips make up for it.
The cornbread donuts are the best! So it's a good thing you could order more of these. Ang sarap nito!

Although you won't really know unless you tried it. I suggest you get the AUSTRALIAN LAMB RIBS. (719Php)
This is sooooo good. The lamb was perfectly cooked. It was so soft and tender. Plus, the minty dip isn't overpowering. It complimented the dish well unlike other establishments that source their dips from somewhere else.

Another crowd favorite would be the 50/50 MEATLOAF. (389Php)
Why 50-50? It is made with 1/2 ground bacon and the rest with ground angus beef. BBQ sauce is perfect with it and the garlic mashed potato is just love!

I love how the desserts in FIRESIDE is the perfect way to end the meal.
You could start with HOME MADE DOUGHNUTS. (239Php)

It might be plain for some but the sauces on the side is perfect. Salted Caramel, Chocolate, and Raspberry Sauce. It is a good thing that you could put your own sauce to mix and match. I prefer it this way rather than sauces being pre-mixed with the dessert dishes.

A cake is always a perfect way to end a meal. When eating in FIRESIDE by KETTLE, you ought to know that the road to get to that cake is a joyful journey.
Moist and perfect with the shavings this COCONUT CHECKERED CAKE (259/slice) is a great treat for the end of your meal.

FIRESIDE by KETTLE is a notch above KETTLE. Most of the dishes are adventurous and yet they have those old favorites up their sleeves. Yes they have a long way to go but with just a month of operations, they are getting there. Budget per person is around 600Php per person. Would really go back for the lamb, cornbread doughnuts, and the meatloaf. For a simple snack, I liked their appetizers especially the mascarpone.

AWESOME DISHES in KETTLE

The usual suspect would be the tummy! The tummy has been the most food hungry part of the body. It usually supersedes the mind in terms of stopping and will power. When the tummy is hungry. It goes for it. No one can stop it. Thus is what my dad has. If he is hungry he eats but crap he has a fast metabolism and is a fit guy!
So on a Saturday evening, after watching a movie, he wanted to eat. It was either a sandwich or something light. Since my family haven't tried it yet, I ushered them in. After a 15 minute stroll, a call came in and boom, we had a table.

We first started out with a carafe of GREEN ICED TEA (149Php)
Refreshing and lemony.
Dad wanted something to sooth his throat so he got a bowl of CLAM CHOWDER (229Php)
He finished it as it didn't skimp on the ingredients.

For starters, the rest of us had the PORK AND POTATO STRIPS (339Php)
It was a humongous pile of thinly cut potatos and a few strips of pork here and there. It reminded me of Pik-Nik. Yet, this version is more sinful as it is more oily. I think I would skip this next time around.

For my pasta, I got the TRUFULLED GORGONZOLA (289Php).
This cheesy pasta was overwhelming with cheese and truffle flavor. My brother loved it so much, he finished the stack

Speaking of, he ordered the BUTTERMILK FRIED CHICKEN (519Php)
Served with corn bread, this chicken fillet is crunchy and juicy. It has 2 types of sauce on the side. One honey based while the other is gravy. Although it packs a punch and is truly tasty, the price seems a little too much if you ask me.

I tried something different as I got their REUBEN (509Php)
Made with premium corned beef and has a side of sweet potato fries, this sandwich is something to marvel to. Meat lovers rejoice with this meal!

Since my dad didn't know what to pick, he had the SHRIMP PO BOY (419Php)
Easily the best dish, for me, that they serve. The shrimps are deep fried and tastes wonderful. Partnered with the bread and the pickle, you can't go wrong with every bite!
Thankfully, dad couldn't finish this so I got the left overs. BWHAHAHAHA!!!

Worth the wait for some and deserves a try for others, this restaurant is here to stay. Albeit your wallet may feel a little light after, you could won't be disappointed with the quality of the food. It may be a little tight with space inside as with any box office restaurant. You may also want to drop by to make a reservation or call in ahead so you won't wait that long. Budget around 800 Php per person.
