ELEGANT SUNDAY BRUNCH AT RAFFLES' MIREIO

Sunday is the best day to have a relaxing and intimate brunch. It's not too early and it's just that perfect time to regroup and have a delicious way to just enjoy the end of a week. At RAFFLES MAKATI'S MIREIO, they have a luxury inspired themed buffet that would definitely make your taste buds tingle with joy. It's quite deceptive but with all the high end dishes that they serve, you'll definitely have a grand time visiting them on a Sunday Brunch.
As you enter the restaurant, a number of dishes will greet your eyes. There are starters like different types of cheese and freshly baked breads and cold cuts. Furthermore, there are salads and small bites that would definitely tease you to get more.
The mains are really set on making you feel how blessed it is on a Sunday. They have huge cuts of prime rib.
You could actually ask them for your preference.
There is also lamb that doesn't have that gaminess feel. Quite delicious.
For Filipinos, Sunday Celebrations aren't complete without roasted pig. Here we have the lechon all carved up and ready for the taking.
Seafoods are also prepared and could be cooked with butter. Having lobsters seals the deal.
MIREIO'S Sunday Brunch is made more important because of the different live stations.
One has an "open faced" sandwich ready for the taking. All you need to do is pick which one would make it to your table. It could be a guacamole inspired with peas on top or a ham with cream cheese and  a salmon with beet puree.
They also have afresh ceviche station that could make salmon or tuna for you. They add a bit of truffle to make the experience wonderful.
Another must not miss station would be the risotto.
Each order is cooked right on the spot. They're also mixed inside a cheese wheel to make it creamier and decadent.
Plus, diners are treated to some Foie Gras as well. Let me tell you, this liver is just buttery and deadly. I could definitely ask for seconds.
Since Mireio is a French Restaurant, their dessert spread covers different types of French creations. There are macarons, eclairs, and a whole lot more.
MIREIO is located in Raffles Makati. Their Sunday Brunch Buffet is from 12pm to 3pm at Php 2,450 per person. One could upgrade it with unlimited softdrinks, juice, wine, and selected cocktails for an additional Php 895. For something more special, you could enjoy limitless Taittinger Champagne with an additional Php1,288.

MIREIO: TO HAVE LUNCH AT RAFFLES HOTEL MAKATI

To have lunch. A simple phrase that let's you think about what happened just after breakfast and what's next up until dinner. It's simple as having a break. You realize how hectic it was and yet you still need something to keep you going. At MIREIO, it might seem a bit too much just for a quick lunch, but it does take your mind away from all the things you have to do even just for a while.
Mireio replenishes your body and energy. It let's you take a breather and freezes time. It's that kind of a restaurant. Yes, you could still talk business here but the view and the vibe spells relax.
No need to worry about choices. They have a MENU DEJEUNER that gives guests options to enjoy a 3 course or a 2 course meal. Pegged at 1,100++ or 988 ++ Php respectively, you could have dessert as well.
Appetizers are curated to give you something light. It could be a cherry tomato compote tart with clams and snails inside or even a Tuna carpaccio with peas to keep it together.
Chicken Liver mousse might also do the trick if you're into that sort of thing.
Although not part of the LUNCH SET MENU, the tartare is fresh, seasoned correctly, and devilish done. This might be a great alternative just in case the appetizers aren't to your liking.
Going back, the main courses are treated in a way to give you fresh and straight to the point flavors.
For something healthy, the baby squid with creamy polenta could give you that boost. No need to worry as the ingredients are given the respect it deserves. The squid is not the rubbery version you might expect from other restaurants rather it gives off a bite. This shows off the skill and the quality of the cooking.
On the other hand, if you want something hefty, the BEEF TONGUE with mushroom sauce or the SIRLOIN might make you one happy camper. It actually surprised me to see such a huge cut of meat to be included in the lunch set at MIREIO. It's quite flavorful and it's high quality meat. No worries there.
One can't really end a meal without dessert. It's usually a toss up between a CATALANE CREAM with berries on top or a freshly baked Tart.

MIREIO in RAFFLES MAKATI: WEEKEND BRUNCH BUFFET

Weekends are made to be enjoyed. It's that time where you can just relax and have fun to your hearts content. At MIREIO, they make sure you have that every Saturdays and Sundays of the month. Here, they have an amazing dessert and cheese buffet to fulfill your French Foodie dreams.
As you enter, you are greeted by a lineup of hand crafted desserts. From cookies to cakes and even delicious made to order crepes. A number of flown in artisinal cheese and freshly baked breads are all there for the taking.
To start, assorted appetizers are prepared. Here, we could see a platter of MAHI-MAHI GRAVLAX with some HOMEMADE TERRINE. The gravlax is smooth and goes well with the chicken terrine. Having the fried capers gave it a different dimension specially when placed on top the toast.
The NICOISE SALAD is fresh and properly seasoned. With baby potatoes, green beans, boiled egg, and other veggies, it seems that this is a great beginning to an amazing meal.
For the next course, one could choose an egg dish. A safe bet would be the SCRAMBLED EGGS. Mixed with black truffle juice and chives, you get a more decadent egg. For someone more adventurous, the EGG BENEDICTINE would be a wonderful choice. Underneath that perfectly cooked egg would be beef tongue, iberico ham, and bearnaise. The mix of flavors could make one swoon with delight.
After the egg course, one could go for the risotto. Here, MIREIO serves it table side. You could pick between the tomato version or the pesto.
To make it better, go ahead and mix it up. The creamy punch of the pesto sauce goes well with the acidity of the red sauce.
Guests are given a number of main courses to try out. They could check out the roasted chicken with sweet potato. This one is a safe choice for a shy appetite.
Seafood lovers would enjoy the GRILLED TUNA. Partnered with chorizo and piperade, the tuna cuts are served with a polenta like center. Other than this, they could also go for the Mackarel filet.
Not to be missed, the CLAMS are to die for. Partnered with french fries, someone in your party should order this just because. Use the fries as a dipping tool to get to the oil. Almost deadly as this one, the SLOW COOKED OXTAIL is a heavy but decadent dish. A couple of bites and you might head on over to having one of the best food comas ever.
As mentioned, the dessert lineup is pretty impressive. One should try out the salted caramel chocolate mousse. More so, the madeleine are classics. Plus, you can never go wrong with crepes.
Aside from these, one could go for cocktails that are buy one take ones. AT RAFFLES HOTEL MAKATI, they make sure you enjoy your lunch and get you tipsy as well.
The DESSERT and CHEESE BUFFET is available during lunch time every weekend at RAFFLES HOTEL MAKATI'S MIREIO. Priced at Php 1,980, you won't go wrong with additional order of their signature cocktails and even a bottle of wine.

MIREIO: A Classic Take on French Cuisine.

There has been a decline in the number of French restaurants in the metro. In recent months, a couple of French establishments closed, giving patrons lesser options when it comes to something provencal. Thankfully, RAFFLES MAKATI introduced MIREIO. With bright interiors and a graceful set up, lunch at MIREIO is more fun than serious.
The menu in itself is versatile. It is perfect for a quick power lunch or a get together with long time friends. Starters are delicious and light. Simple yet sophisticated, the ingredients pour out to great you. Such is the case of the TOMATO TART. A generous serving of snails is placed on top of a crunchy flat bread that is mixed with tomato and parmesan cheese. With the basil dressing, everything jives together.
To wake up the senses, the PORK NECK and CHICKEN LIVER TERRINE is superb. Vivid flavors pop out with each bite. Having it with the pickled vegetables gives you a distinct profile that surprises the palette.
The CLASSIC BEEF TARTAR though must not be missed. Using only the freshest ingredients, a mixture of egg and high quality meat is presented with a battery of seasoning. This could definitely be French Cuisine's answer to sushi.
Speaking of seafood, non-meat eaters would enjoy the SALMON TARTAR. Topped with goat cheese and deep fried crisy skin, this has a more healthier flavor.
Moving on to a more serious note, this traditional puff pastry is filled with chicken and foie gras. One would immediately think that this dish would be dry and tough. Surprisingly, the chicken meat is moist and tremendously tender. The foie gras gave it a more smoother feel. The shell is also a bit crispy and held its form.
Something a bit similar to Filipino's sisig, this CRISPY PORK GALETTE has a savory note to it. The wrapping is something you could do without but it kept the chopped pork bits crispy. This is a dish that requires a cup of rice.
Even if MIREIO serves delicious cuts of meat that they cook into glorious steak, their seafood section is also a thing of beauty. With most of their ingredients flown in, one could expect that the quality and the flavors of each differs from your ordinary run of the mill supermarket.
As a substitute for rice, you might want to go for the PRAWNS RISOTTO. Each spoonful and you get to taste the sea. Salty but not overly so. Just right to compliment the prawns. Another over achiever would be the SEA BASS. An eye candy, this one is perfectly cooked. Each bite into the meat would provide a creamy texture. Underneath, the ratatouille stuffed canneloni are placed to support and work with the flavors. This one is light yet filling.
Furthermore, guests have the option of getting clams and mussels. Cooked in an unmistakable manner, the best tip one could get is to get a piece of bread and dip it in the sauces. The juices are filled with much gusto.
To end the meal, dessert is but the beginning. The flan tart is a bouncy way to get your fill. Another would be to go for the creme brulee. Each with their own characteristics.
It could be a quickie or a long engagement. For MIREIO, you're definitely getting your money's worth.
