5 Reasons Why You Should Have Sunday Brunch in HYATT CITY OF DREAMS MANILA

As a foodie, I always have one of the most problematic job of answering the most asked question ever. "Where will we eat?". It's always "saan tayo kakain?!".  It's quite hard to satisfy everyone's cravings and appetites. Thankfully BUFFETS were made.
If there was one SUNDAY HOTEL BUFFET to visit, it would be THE CAFE in HYATT CITY OF DREAMS MANILA. This huge restaurant houses different theaters that would and could cater to your needs, wants, and desires. Here are 5 reasons why you should come on over and visit THE CAFE during SUNDAY BRUNCH.
1) One of the main draw of the Sunday Brunch is their offering of lobsters. Granted that these are slipper lobsters, you could have them cooked based on your preference. Also, they have shrimps, clams, and crabs just to add to the frey.
2) Just beside it, they have an amazing oyster bar that has a huge spread of Fine de Claire Oysters. These aren't your ordinary versions. They are imported and have a sweeter note compared to other oysters I have tasted.
3) They have an extensive carving station. Not only do they have a fine looking roasted pig aka lechon, they also have this HUGE WAGYU BEEF. It's like your dream just came true. It's juicy and tender and terrific. No need to worry as the chef manning the station could grill it for you based on your preference.
4) THEY HAVE FOIE GRAS.
Mic drop and set. These babies are cooked right in front of you. You have the option to add different toppings that would go well with them. Personally, I know that having too much would be bad for you but I had 7 of these babies. My goodness, they were amazing.
5) The buffet comes with unlimited drinks and a selection of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. Just having a glass or two of mojito with your sparkling wine sounds right about perfect for brunch.
Of course, The Cafe at the HYATT has more to offer. They have tons of dishes in the spread plus more scrumptious delights like the crispy pata and even a huge shank cooked in red wine.
Also, don't forget to go for their tempuras. They have a number for you to choose from but personal fave would be the ebi or the shrimp.
Of course, they have a number of sushi and sashimi available as well.
And just to top it all of, they have a long table spread filled with sweet endings.
The CAFE at HYATT CITY OF DREAMS MANILA is the all day buffet restaurant of the hotel. The Sunday Brunch buffet spread is at  Php 2,999 nett. This comes with free-flowing sparkling wine, local beer and selected cocktails. You also have the option not to have the alcoholic beverages at a discounted price of Php 2,799 nett. Sunday Brunch is inclusive of shucked oysters, wok-fried lobsters, seafood on ice, and Spanish Iberico cured ham.

Breakfast daily is at Php 1,300 nett
Lunch Monday-Thursday is at Php 1,638 nett
Dinner of Sunday-Thursday is at Php 2,088 nett

HYATT CITY OF DREAMS MANILA: DISHES TO TRY AT THE CAFE

One of the things that I look for when visiting a restaurant or a hotel buffet would be the staff and the people behind them. Of course, food quality and choices are on the top of the list but the people behind the counter matters a lot as well.
Just a week back, I found myself in the CITY OF DREAMS MANILA. To be more specific, I was in HYATT'S The Cafe. During this event, I met the newest FNB director of Hyatt City of Dreams Mr. Chad Ogdenn. He brings with him 27 years of rich culinary experience while working in different hotel and restaurants around the world. With his new post, he brought in his love for food. I believe you can't be in the industry without being madly deeply in love with it. Because of that, I'm pretty much happy with how things are looking up at HYATT CITY OF DREAMS MANILA.
Going back, the buffet at The Cafe is still large and spacious. You get a dose of different cheeses and appetizers, main courses, Chinese cuisine, pasta, pizza, meat carvings and a long line for dessert items.
Aside from the different items that you could pick, Chad has a few favorite dishes that you have got to try. These would include the yakitori, deep dish Chicago style pizza, and even the black pepper beef.
Personally though, I'm in love with their take on the crispy pata. Juicy, tender, and moist, it can't get better than this. The crunchy skin is the most soft after piece of the pata. You gotta try their version out.
The Cafe is located at the Ground Level of Hyatt City of Dreams Manila. You could contact them at (632) 691 1234 extension 1162.

INDIAN FOOD FESTIVAL at HYATT Hotel City of Dreams Manila

Once I started learning that food is more than just nutrition and a need, I realized that spices and flavors intertwine and work together to create the perfect dish. Of course this is subjective and yet, experience plays a huge factor in how people react or enjoy their food. After all is said and done, I believe variety is the main component of being happy. One of the most flavorful and spice filled cuisine that I have experienced would be INDIAN FOOD. Being able to deliver flavors from both end of the spectrum, Indian Cuisine definitely has the variety aspect to make anyone enjoy their meal.
Starting July 17th to the 24th, CAFE at The HYATT HOTEL in CITY OF DREAMS MANILA is having the INDIAN FOOD FESTIVAL. Coined as the ROAD to GURGAON, Hyatt brought in Chef AJITH KUMAR from Hyatt New Delhi to showcase the vast dishes that Indian cuisine has to offer.
Making use of fresh ingredients and a plethora of spices, the team of HYATT made sure to produce the most authentic flavors with regards to INDIAN Cuisine.
To start, freshly baked Indian breads like papadum and roti welcomed the guests to the buffet spread.
Appetizers like Vegetarian Samosas and Aloo Tikaa or potato croquette would be the perfect starter for an Indian feast. As this coats and prepares the stomach for the adventure ahead.
Traditionally Indian Cuisine is viewed as spicy and a bit hot for the Filipinos and other Asian palettes, as such, the chefs toned down the dishes a bit without sacrificing the flavor profiles.
Different types of curries and other delectable dishes were laid out in such a way that it is a feast for the senses. Starting from your eyes to your nose and all the way to your mouth.
To give you a proper greeting, the TOMATO TULSI KA SHORBA or tomato soup is prepared in such a way that it isn't heavy nor dragging. It just helps your taste buds get accustomed to the spice-filled nature of the dishes to come.
The CHICKEN Curry would definitely be something familiar. Speaking of chicken, the Chicken Tikka is a must try. Properly marinated, one would appreciate the moist and tender meat coupled with Indian spices.
Personally, I enjoyed the MUTTON GOSHT ROGAN. This lamb dish is a specialty that would go well with any of the Indian breads or biryani.

When it comes to seafood, the PRAWN CURRY was pretty good. The Indian flavors were there but the mango sort of balanced it out. Making the dish somewhat neutral. Another must eat dish would be the PANEER MAKHANI. Basically this tofu like cubes are actually made from cottage cheese simmered in tomato sauce. Use the bread to scoop up the sauce and the cheese. Then, you'll understand.
Fish lovers would enjoy the BAKED TREVALLY with MUSTARD YOGHURT. This huge fish is very flavorful that you might get a bit surprised at first bite. The yoghurt flavor was absorbed by the meat making it creamier.
To help balance the spiciness of the dishes, a RAITA STATION was put up. This basically has different fresh vegetables and yoghurt and even seasoned rice to mellow down the kick and make everything flow just right.
Surprisingly, there are also dessert dishes that had an Indian flare. The Carrot Halwa has a mild sweetness that was somewhat in the middle of the range. I enjoyed it even if it was made out of carrots. The Gulab Jamun and Rice Kheer Barfi were a bit too sweet for me.
The great thing about the INDIAN FOOD FESTIVAL at THE HYATT is that they have a lot more in store for diners. Aside from the INDIAN SECTION, guests could choose from the Chinese, Grilled, Salads, Caviar, Cold Cuts and Cheese, Japanese section and a long dessert spread.
PRO TIP: Go on a Sunday and indulge. "THE BEAST" MAYURA WAGYU BEEF is definitely a must try.
 Remember, mix and match. ENJOY!
The ROAD to GURGAON, INDIA would run from July 17-24, 2016. For lunch and dinner buffet, regular rates would apply. (Php 1,388 / 1,888 nett). Metrobank Card Holders get 25% DISCOUNTS at the CAFE and CLUB ROOM accommodations. (June1-Aug31, 2016).

5 Dishes to try at The CANTONESE FOOD FESTIVAL in The Cafe of Hyatt

ON opening day, The CANTONESE FOOD FESTIVAL in HYATT'S THE CAFE was a sight to see. A lot of diners and patrons crowding over the different dishes two masters created.
From June 14-19, 2016, the HYATT will be having the CANTONESE FOOD FESTIVAL. Here, visiting chefs XI QING HUI and ZHAO PAN FEI would entice the crowd with their creations.

I was impressed with the skills both chef showed while preparing different dishes.

To start things off, I had a couple of the CUAPAO. Nice sandwichy like starters for the lunch. Very soft and moist and had a little surprise contrast with the pickled vegetable.

To warm up the mood, STEAMED PRAWNS with VERMICELLI is a nice choice. Served with premium soy sauce that was infused with the stock, this was a nice treat.

If there was one dish that you would go back for and give up all the calories it would be this. The CRISPY CRAB CLAW with Asian sauce.

This deep fried savory dish is every crab lovers delight. This is the lazy man's way out. No need to crack the claws. Everything is already done for you. Just pop it in and you are good to go.

Another crowd favorite was the SNAPPER with XO sauce. Simple yet delicious. Properly fried and still had crunch, the meat was melt in your mouth. Sweet and savory.
When going for some Chinese food, you won't go wrong with the different cuts of meat that they have. I enjoyed each and everyone of them. The chicken, the pork, and the crunchiness of the skin.
Aside from these favorites, they have a lot of chinese dishes to choose from as well.
The buchi is pretty much fluffy and made perfectly.
Aside from the different dishes, they also have some dimsum in store for the guests.
Remember, this is a buffet so you don't need to worry as there are other stations to go to. From the carving station, to cheese and meat, Japanese dishes and a create your own pasta.
The CANTONESE FOOD FESTIVAL in HYATT'S THE CAFE is from JUNE 14-19. Hope you get to enjoy the different offerings.
