It was a surreal experience. A bazaar made for good intentions and is there to serve the foodies of Manila. It is my second time to attend the BEST FOOD FORWARD. Now on their 5th year, this benefit bazaar has been the jump off point of many interesting food discoveries.

Currently ongoing, from OCTOBER 10-11, BEST FOOD FORWARD #bff2015 has a lot to offer.

Located in POWER PLANT's TENT, the venue screams delicious food even before you enter.

Given that there were a lot and I can't really handle all of them, I only saw a few that tickled my fancy.

Different kinds of HOT SAUCE. Perfect for every occasion. For BBQ or even for a simple meal. This is an interesting find.

One of my fave from last year is back. The SOFT SHELL CRAB SANDWICH. A whole crab thats deep fried and is there for the taking. Breaded exteriors. As the name says, you don't need to worry about the crab's shell. Everything here is edible!

For easy munching, there was even a stall that sells FRIED ASADO FLOSSPAO. Interesting right?

One of the best cookie maker would be the BALD BAKER. From his best seller of COMPOST cookie to his newest creation ORANGE MISO, I can't really say which I love more. BTW, they both got SOLD OUT today so I expect it may happen again tomorrow. PRO TIP: Be there early!
No doubt, I am impressed with CY. With his perseverance and interesting life story of a successful office worker turned baker, you can taste his dedication in the food he creates. KUDOS SIR!

Another interesting find is the BROWNIE BAR! Brownie flavored with alcohol.
I liked the moist and chewy texture of the brownie. Interestingly, the bitters are there for you to add that alcohol taste but without the huge kick. Kudos guys. Excellent job!

A mix of both world, PASTRY ARMOIRE, greeted me as I entered the tent. Chef Anna has been in the food business around 5 years and I as a witness can say that this chef is a fighter. Known for PINK WASABI and the different sushi looking desserts, she is currently focusing on PASTRY ARMOIRE and its pastries creations.
Her dessert creations are perfect to pair with coffee and are also deadly. Pictured above is the TIPSY BACON STICKY BUNS. Topped with BACON BOURBON SAUCE and more BACON. You won't go wrong with the salty taste of the bacon and the sweet flavor of the sticky bun. Perfect combination!

My favorite find of the day is BON BANHMI's BANHMI. Banh mi are basically your Vietnamese Sandwiches. The bread is usually a foot long and are what we could call as Vietnamese Baguettes.
Each bite is both crunchy and chewy at the same time. The different meat used are light yet flavorful. It got me hooked.
I am proud to say that I hoarded and bought 3 long ones to go. Unfortunately, they're all gone.  That good!

BEST FOOD FORWARD is one of those food bazaars that not only serve the Manila Foodies great finds but also tries to help others grow out of their shell. Needless to say, I'm returning today to check out the other stalls and their dishes. In case you see me, please don't hesitate to say hi. I would love to chat with you!
